The choice to change sprig’s character design was such a good call. It made him look more like a kid, someone Anne would be friends with, and he doesn’t look so clumsy or goofy.

In the end I think they made the right decisions with the maturing of Anne, redemption of Sasha, the slow burn reveal of The Core, and use of Marcy as a host trapped in her own fantasy world. It all just works so well for the arcs of each character.

I'd be interested sure to see how different the story would've turned out if they went the "Dasha" route, ..but I think Sasha's worldview and actions being entirely her own, something for HER to change, is much more powerful and makes her a really compelling character.

Had Sasha been possessed by whatever entity this is early on at Toad Tower, I think a lot of that growth potential honestly would've been lost. Ultimately I'm pretty happy with the arcs turned out for each character, and depiction of the entity as The Core was an interesting angle in the story.
