Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) - 'Slave Children's Crusade' scene [1080]

The second Indiana Jones film was arguably the weakest of the original trilogy, and that is definitely the case when it comes to the music. But an average Williams/Spielberg score is still better than most others, and two of the best pieces of music the film gave us were the playful 'Nocturnal Activities' and the rousing 'Parade of the Slave Children'.

Starring Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw, Jonathan Ke Quan (whose character Short Round got a playful theme, heard at the end of this scene), Amrish Puri and Roshan Seth. Written by George Lucas, Willard Huyk and Gloria Katz. Music by John Williams, of course.

"Indy... now let's get out of here."
"... Right. _All_ of us."

It's rather incredible that with Harrison Ford, you don't see Indiana Jones when you look at Han Solo and vice versa.

Harrison Ford with that celluloid burning stare worthy of a Leone picture. This is my favorite moment of the film. Indy woke up from the bad dream and became that cult's worst nightmare.

And in this moment Indiana Jones became one of the greatest heroes of all time for me. Instead of running away and escaping while he could he chose to face overwhelming odds and free every child slave, and beat the snot out of the slavers while doing it. Pure awesome.

The first shot of Indiana’s shape in shadows must be one of the most iconic shots ever…

Best line of the film…”Right, all of us!” Then when the light on the cart lands on Indy’s face, that’s the most intimidating face I’ve ever seen, in cinema or in real life! He was going against insurmountable odds, but was just too determined to free those kids to care anymore! And the fact they were being physically abused right in front of him turned our hero into a beast! This is the moment Indy became a true hero in my eyes!

That shot at :20 is incredible. One of the best shots in cinema. The next hour of this film from that moment is probably one of the best sequences in film history

They just DON"T make ICONIC scenes like this in movies today --- nothing even close to this action and emotional-impact.

The shot at 1:48 with the children seeing the sun again and running to freedom always makes me cry, its just too powerful.

This is probably one of my most favorite scenes in the Indiana jones franchise, because he is being such a hero

I have NEVER seen a scene this ICONIC and emotionally-impactful in ANY Marvel or DC movie.

1:47 I love that while Indy is physically fighting in the Slave Children's Crusade that the Will of Shiva theme plays every time there is a cut to the children fleeing their prison in the mines. Especially the shot when they reach the palace doors and the sun blinds them for a moment after years in the darkness. That never fails to make me tear up! 🥺

1:07 it's like the guards are saying "make sure you kids get your whippings as a little sovenir before leaving this place for good"

1:25 is my favorite part just because of the bonk sound effect it makes 😂

Has anyone ever looked more heroic than Harrison Ford at 0:20?

The best part is Indiana Jones entrance. He just stand there with a badass post, then all we hear next two punches and the bad dude fly off. Good enough for audience to imagine the movie.

Awesome scene sometimes need no shooting. Just let viewers imagine it.

It’s kind of ironic people used to dislike this movie because of how dark it is but that’s why I love it so much, because of how dark it is.

Wait, this music was bad? The slave march is one of my favorites in the Indiana jones series

Temple of Doom is so damn underrated! This score. And for some reason the end credits theme in this one hits harder!
