NEVER use hot glue, he is suggesting it to reapply the heat sink, this is a bad idea - the best method is to get the x-clamps reapplied, failing that remove the prongs and replace with the appropriate washers and screws. Also you may want to look up reflowing or reballing if you are having E74/Graphical issues.

@12elfutbolista Try taking the disk out and with a micro fiber towel clean the disk from the center out and never use solvents should be fine....i had the same problem and it seemed to help.

Other tip after powering down your xbox via the controller don't turn off power till fans have stopped if you turn off before fans have cooled the xbox you will leave it over heated thus prompting red ring .

my issue;

whenever i have a disc in, it eventually and abruptly exits the game and stops reading it. when that happens, the xbox ring flashes. it doesn't change color, like i said; it flashes. when this happens, the xbox is always loading if i try to go into "my games" or "apps" etc.

when i eject the disc, otherwise known as having the disc tray come out - the xbox ring stops flashing. when it stops flashing, the loading screen for things like "my games" suddenly loads, and works like normal.


any ideas? i've been searching for solutions for quite a while but haven't found anything for this problem.

That is nuts! You can also toss the fan in your dishwasher and clean it like new.

First the Xbox is stuck on logo screen and then i saw some solutions which says to put the tray out and then turn it on. But when i do that, on the startup *THE BSOD* comes. Any FIX?

try reflowing the gpu or the anna chip if you can hear sound but see noting check the video cable but as it said in the video 9out of 10 off the errors is caused by the gpu so try a reflow :) hope it helped

Same :S thats why im planning to buy the cooler station that provides cool air, usually it freezes because of hot air inside the 360 the Nyko cooler only takes out hot air not giving cool air

Sir my Xbox 360 suddenly failed to connect with TV or PC Monitor by both AV cable and HDMI cable. Though we have been playing it by HDMI cable for 1 year but one day suddenly

The Red Ring isn't caused by the GPU slipping, therefore no reason for hot glue to keep it in place, second, there is no solder on the GPU, its thermal paste, and when it red rings its because all the thermal paste (they use cheap shit so it melts) has melted off the GPU. All you do it open like you did, and put new thermal paste on the GPU after cleaning it off.

looking to fix your drive? buy a new drive, make sure its the exact model, theres 3 types. take apart the xbox 360 casings take out the drive, get the new drive, unscrew the back, carfully take out the circuit board, it has 3 or 4 ribbon wires. unclip it from the drive. do the same for the old drive. swap the old board into the new drive. boom new drive with out flashing cause the board is already flash to your xbox and hardware is just hardware. works like a charm. mines going on 2 years.

Nice tutorial but when you mentioned placing something under it to prop it up you need to mention that what you place under it should be non conductive like plastic or wood.

black screen no sound ? turn on your xbox easy fix turn on x box press y button and right trigger at same time keep doing this till your display resets .It is a simple display problem .

Should cleaning out the fan and heat sink fix a fan that's stopped spinning or is it too late at that point? What should I do if the fan has stopped spinning? It's gotta be a matter of dust. I have three dogs, one that sheds like no other. I haven't gotten an E74 or whatever, nor the red ring of death. What is an E74?

@BlackFistUpHigh u may have ur family settings set to auto turn off or its something like that just go to my xbox then my system there should be an option in there that says faamily settings go there once in there there should be like a family time limit check that and hope it works for you :)

before my xbox got 3rrod it had a problem with taking me out of my parties (on my screen it ses my friends has left and on their screen it ses i left) then i put rrod fix in my xbox and it still does it any solutions????
