We compare the graphics of System Shock Enhanced Edition with the Remake by Nightdive Studios. Nightdive Studio currently put this on Kickstarter and released this impressive Pre-Alpha Demo of a System Shock Remake. These are not the final graphics of the game, it is Pre-Alpha.

I like how they added more detail, making things more defined. Granted the color palete is more akin to monochrome, but what would you expect a space colony's maintnance corridors to look like? As for Shodan... well, I really hope they do her justice.

Blinking lights were bleeding edge back in the day. When I saw light sources that turned on and off, I shat my pants and thought to myself, "Future is now". Then I took off my pants and started playing. And that's why I have to play games without any pants.

Looks promising but you need to work a bit on the color palette to really get that S.Shock feeling going and you overuse the "mist" effect. Even where there are no broken equipment somehow steam or vapor is entering the room. It is not necessary in my opinion. Also, if every room has that, then the rooms will feel similar. The "zombie" model looks great!

.. I really don't want to diss the work the people who are doing the remake have done on it because it does look very good, there's no doubt they are very good modern grpahics. .. And yet there's something of the aesthetic of the original that /does feel lost in translation, particulary in the color pallette. It eels less vibrant, more... blue all over.

Looks brilliant. I love the modern retro style of the remake. They recreated all the old textures and models while simultaneously staying faithfully true to their original beautiful designs. Looks awesome, i just hope its scary as hell!

I think the devs did an astounding job, taking the original system shock feel and adding an alien: isolation element to it.

Played the demo and loved it! Just a pity you still can't have smels on PC. I mean, it's visually immersive and so you have most of your senses covered, meaning it only lacks touch and smell to be perfect in current standards. I'm 61 and a long term fan and I'll buy it for sure.
