Always liked to think that the Hacker's fixation on that power armour at the end was a subtle nudge at the fact that he might have been scarred by what he went through with Shodan - like he's afraid he might need to be on guard still

That "Tetracorp battle armor" is surely a hint at Looking Glass's next game "Terra Nova" (which looked superficially like "System Shock outdoors".)

Apparently according to the tip guide, Trioptimum also detained the hacker after the incident and he had to break free. The canon isn't clear on what happens to him.
