I had to laugh because I used the concrete blocks and I realize that having a man sure would be helpful. They are so heavy and I'm a senior. I do own a drill and I can have the wood cut to 6' lengths so I may try to do it myself and add on to what I have. However, I am not as confident with your grid system which I think is definitely a great way to combine 2 needed elements into one. And as far as removing grass goes....well, I tried that and it is just too hard for me. I laid my weed fabric right over the grass and all seems well. This is the 4th season for my concrete garden.
