My husband gets tons of pallets at work. He built me 4 standing raised beds out of pallets. We just had to buy the nails, a couple of 2x 4’s & some landscape fabric. Probably spent $50 for all 4 beds

EXCELLENT video! I'm glad you mentioned the different stamps that indicate how the pallet has been treated. Many people don't know this. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A handyworking YouTube creator that dampens the audio to use power tools... you are amazing, thank you.

I watched this video and I ran to the farmer's market bought soil and on the way home I just stumbled across 3 great pallet's on the side of the road and I just made 3 standing herb boxes for virtually no money! Thanks for the inspiration! This was a great idea! I wish I could send you pictures

I wanted to come back and leave a comment and say Thank You for the video. I built this same box yesterday and my wife loves it. I appreciate it!

James, what an amazing contribution to the garden community. Your guidance, instruction, and ideas are beyond amazing. You are a true inspiration. I am a 49 y.o. woman who knows nothing about woodworking, but I feel that with your instructions, I may be able to make something like this. 5 stars to the Boss, Tuck, for keeping you in check 😊.

I am a disabled, 72 year old woman living in a small flat with shared garden, no tools like you have, but it has given me inspiration for when I move. I have been told that I can have raised beds to grow vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. Thank you. ❤ you have given me positive thoughts that there is hope in the future!

When I saw those machines, I thought forget zero dollars, I might have to apply for a loan to get those machines.

I just discovered your video. I like how you explain what you're doing and don't into every detail. I don't like when videos are drawn out. I skip those. Thanks for the info.

Pretty cool. As a carpenter for 40 years I never gave thought to using pallets. Am planning on making a couple this year using cedar fence pickets

This is the most thorough demonstation of dismantling a pallet and using the boards for a raised bed. Awesome job, James!! Thank you. So glad u included EVERYTHING!!

Well, I bought a skill saw to begin projects like modifying my chicken coop to install an automatic chicken door, building a small chicken tractor, and constructing a compost sifter. I have been watching all of your builds to get inspiration. I got the chicken door installed safely. Now, I can add this project to my list. 😊. Here are some hearts for Tuck: ❤❤❤

You could drive those few nails out of the half way point on the end boards with a nail set and a hammer. Low tech and easy peasy. ♥🐕

Recently found your channel the other week and one of the first videos I saw was your first pallet bed video. This new version seems so much simpler to make and thankfully I work at a warehouse so I'm sure they can let me take a pallet so I can start my first raised garden!

I’ve never done any woodworking before but you made this all make so much sense! Thank you. This was an excellent 101 class and I hope to someday put it into practice!

And I really really appreciate the advice to just cut around the nails rather than suffer through the crowbar. That makes it so much more approachable for an intimidated newbie (me!) and more accessible for anyone with hand problems (sometimes me.)

It looks so easy the way you got the pallet and dismantled it and used the boards to build a bed. I would actually need to work with someone to learn how to do that and it’s worth it. You could build your own beds and that can save you a lot of money. I enjoy watching your channel as a matter of fact I am going to get started planting some vegetables thanks to you. I have been wanting to grow my own food for a while now but watching you mix your own soil and you practically showed us everything we need to buy and use to do your own garden. I really appreciate your videos and I do live in a house in Tennessee and I have a good size yard so I plan on having at least three beds in my back yard to grow food. Your dog is the first dog I seen eat radishes and he is such a sweet animal.

Nice work. Recycling always wins. When I was demolishing old wooden houses for recycling, to maximize the floorboards recovered, we used the saw to cut the tongue and groove boards 2-3 floor joists wide. Then cut the floor joists. Just like your first cut. I would do the underside of the pallet instead of the top. Remove the 3-4 rails from the bottom first. At the yard we would lay the flooring sections face down. Then get a sledgehammer and roll the floor joists over removing all the boards at once. Nails stayed in the floorboards. Recovery rate 98% for high value timbers no split timbers.
