Cedar is one of the types of wood to not use in a hugelkultur bed for the fact that they're resistant to rot and take a very long time to break down. It makes sense Cedar would be a great wood to use for purposes of longevity, like you did. Beautiful beds!

5:52 Pressure treated wood hasn't used toxic chemicals in over twenty years. Unless you're using incredibly old lumber (in which case I'd wonder if there are any chemicals left for the soil to absorb anyway), it shouldn't do any harm to your soil or plants.

My solution for raised...and I mean raised garden beds are stock tanks. My biggest stock tanks I have are 10' L x 2'W x 2'D. My other stock tanks range in sizes from 3', 4' and 6' L and have the same height and depth as my 10' tanks. I got the idea 3 years ago and have LOVED them...NO BENDING over at all. We have them all on cement blocks and all come almost to my waist. NO MORE backaches or bending over!

I am using tree size nursery tubs for my garden, Florida zone 9b. This is too expensive but it looks nice.
