Programming a Chevy Garage Door Opener | 3 Button Garage Door Opener on 2023 Chevy Traverse

In this video, I show how to program the 2023 Chevy Garage Door Opener. You will need to have your garage door handheld transmitter, be in your vehicle, and be pulled out of your garage. To program, hold down the button your want to program and you will see the red indicator light blink. Push your garage door transmitter while holding it 1 to 3 inches from your buttons. The light will blink quickly, releasing your transmitter. Push the button you just programmed and your garage door light will flash indicating the button is programmed. Release and hold down and your garage will operate.

I have a 2018 chevy traverse and a genie 1035. Clear all the codes on the chevy by holding 1 and 3 until it blinks rapidly. Once cleared, with the garage door open, hit the program button on the genie for approximately 1.5 secs and let go it will blink purple. Go to the car and hit the button desired on the car and hold the button on the remote that comes with the opener. You will see the rapidly blinking light that he talks about. This should sync.

I did a little trial and error, but this is a super helpful video!

i have a genie garage door opener, everything worked with programming the car. but, had to push the learn button on my garage door opener, and then 2 seconds with the button i selected in the car. worked! took forever to figure out that i had to push the learn button.

This technique did not work for my 2021 Blazer. The Genie owner's manual did not work either. I had to push the Program button on my Genie 2028 until the light flashed purple. Then, I simultaneously pushed the hand-held remote button and in-car button until the in-car light rapidly flashed.

What if you don't have a garage door opener? My car was stolen and that was one of the things we didn't get back when it was recovered. I just got my equinox but we still don't have a remote 😢
