How do you learn songs on the guitar faster? In this video, I’ll be showing you my super efficient 9-step system for learning songs on the guitar. Back in 2020, I was hired for a country gig that required me to learn fifty brand-new songs in just five days. To accomplish this task, I came up with an idea called the “minimum viable performance,” that allowed me to internalize songs rather than memorize them. You only have to look as far as the recent Ed Sheeran and Marvin Gaye legal battle to realize just how many songs share chords, melodies, and structure. So in this lesson, I’ll show you how you can use some basic music theory and something I call the “chord roadmaps” to greatly speed up the pace that you learn to play songs on guitar as well.
