It takes humility to learn new skills as an adult. Having that “I know everything” attitude is extremely counter intuitive.

This guy is right. When I want to learn a new programming language, I put my phone on do not disturb mode, close any non relevant tabs on my pc and put lazer focus into what I'm doing for 1 full hour.

It's way more effective than 5 hours of trying to learn whilst using my phone & having the TV on in the background etc.

Can somebody tell Joe that he's the only one who has a cryochamber in his basement?

Andrew Huberman is just the best. He’s got such a chill, straightforward way of explaining this stuff to where I don’t feel like a total idiot listening to him. It’s easy to digest and apply.

Float tanks are very convenient and practical for regular folks, like you and me, who sometimes need help learning new things. Before I learn a something new, no matter how small, I find it's always helpful to crawl into either my float tank or my personal cryochamber first. After that comes the learning.

Parachuting out of an experimental aircraft from the edge of space and landing in a shark tank is also a good adrenalin-boosting technique that I highly recommend.

im a graduate level educator.. and we actually use this method a lot (because grad school has a lot of old learners who are psychologically and mentally motivated but are physically declining due to biological reasons).. the cheapest and most practical way of doing so is to get them running before class or do bunch of kindergarten exercises like jumping jacks.. then give them brain foods like fish and nuts (high calorie)

what this does to their brain is release endorphins and adrenalin. it sends signal to their brain that they need to be alert...the small ammount of brain food given stimulates their appetite but not to the point of comfort that they feel satisfied with a full meal... using cavemen terms in clinical setting, it actually stimulates the brain to think its in danger so it has to adapt and survive, which gives you focus and drive..

other more "stimulating" activities is to reward them after classes (or a stressful brain activity)... one example of what they do is to send these old people to the karaoke and sing their lungs out, with beautiful young females they do not know... what this does to the brain is have a stress-reward correlation... and stimulates primal (sexual) instincts from both male and females.. in layman terms, this gives their brain an "illusion" that their stressful work is important to give them a happy ending

Wake up, cold shower, do Wim Hoff breathing, and then spend an hour learning things before work. Life Hack.

Also, caffeine helps learning. Sweet

Makes a lot of sense - I am learning to speak French and by coincidence after a morning 5k run I would do some french revision and I found that I learnt so much better and quicker than when I learnt later on in the day without exercise
