Record of Ragnarok is a Netflix anime but it's pretty entertaining. It's not the best thing I've ever seen but it was kinda mindless entertainment. #anime #animeshorts #animereview #recordofragnarok

It’s main flaw is just that they turned the most epic scene into a slide show and it could have been great

I actually like the plot. I liked learning their own spin on all these great characters

And you watch it for Aphrodite's "reactions" to any kind of power surge

I think the two main problems the anime in specific has are the following:
1. At least in the first season many epic fight scenes were reduced to basically powerpoint presentations with emotional OST which leads them to losing the kind of impact the manga ironically has.
2. The pacing. In the manga you can read at your own controlled pace so it isn't really a problem there but animes follow a different rule. As I noticed, many people complained about characters (especially fighters) talk more than fight. The problem here is, since this is basically a giant tournament arc, there isn't gonna be too much room for an overarching story and character developement over a longer period of time, hence why this is more a thing happening aside from the main event. So the only main time for fighter's developement is during their fight, which is then filled with dialogue and flashbacks. Without it you just have to historical figures bashing their head infront of an audience. Additionally it helps to introduce them to watchers who aren't familiar with them.

The story telling part of this anime is the reason I watch the anime

Plus the songs that come out of it. The Jack the Ripper theme and Ready to Duel ost are god tier. And DaddyPhatSnaps has already made a couple songs about Jack and Adam.

The show is alright but the manga is so much better, it manages to convey so much more motion than the anime does

The plot and characters is the saving grace of this show even if the animation falls a bit short at moments it’s a definite watch

My problem that was heavy in season 1 is the fights would last several episodes because while the fighters are mid punch we’d get a flashback or a random character talking about something like bro let me watch these men beat the shit out of each other

I do watch it for the plot because i am a fan of learning about past and present religions/mythologies and famouse people from the past then combining those makes media be really entertaining

I don't usually watch some battle tournament type of anime, lots of show offs and flexing. It's always like the opponent is some kind of airhead and smug while the other is cool and quiet and then boom, the quiet one always win in a second. I hate that. ROR is different. You usually don't know who wins, even if there's a power range gaps. Even if it's God to Human battle, it feels like Beast to Beast battle. That's why I'm attached to the series.
