First episode actually important also sets the tone of who the character is and why you should watch him carefully. He’s not afraid and willing to go to great lengths to carry out his own motives.

For me its reverse i think its good they made it that way since a lot of people will have interest on how this episode linked to the rest of episodes, so they will dig up from manga and LN as i did ✌️✌️✌️✌️

The anime is criminally underrated.
It’s legitimately one of very few anime I’ve seen which had be laughing whilst watching it to the point I had to pause it, and rewind it so I didn’t miss anything on several occasions 😂

Imo, even if you take the anime seriously, it’ll still be awesome. Not from looking at Cid’s perspective, but at everyone around him.
How he affects his surroundings is in my opinion super interesting.

For example: the princesses of the story. All their lives and perspectives change in some major way thanks to or because of Shadow/Cid.
