CRAZY STORM SURGE damage with homes caked in FEET OF SAND from Hurricane Milton!

Massive boats beached on land and homes caked in feet of sand show the extent and power of the storm surge from category 3 Hurricane #Milton from Venice through Englewood, Florida and hard hit Manasota Key. This is likely a 10+ foot storm surge on the dry dirty side of the half-a-cane structure south of the landfall point in Sarasota.

In the 60s Hurricane Camille buried our family cottage under 20’ of sand. It’s still under there.

This is why there are mandatory evacuations. I really hope that everyone listened in that area.

The building at 1:19 was the Englewood Bait House. No longer in the family but my grandfather built the original structure in 1955. 😢😢😢

Well, living on a sandbar created by previous storms will no doubt be reconfigured by future storms.
There is a reason to exist and thrive on higher ground.
Cheers.

The last few years they were complaining about beach erosion and how to stop it. Well, I think we found out that Mother Nature will eventually bring it back to where it was.

Thank you Reed for all you and the crew do to keep us informed on the crazy hurricane storms attacking America right now! I'm super glad the storm chasers made it through another one safe. We really need to be praying for all the people who lost family, friends and homes from the storms.

This is a real-time example of how many ancient harbors were filled in and coastlines changed. I will think of this footage the next time I watch an archeology/history shore about some ancient, lost harbor.
