It's not the rain that caused the rapid flooding. It's the strong winds that blew the water onto shore.

Don’t know why this doesn’t show how high the water actually got. I live there. The storm surge brought water 15ft high, almost to the tops of those palm trees on the left at the beginning. Whole entire houses and restaurants were picked up and violently swept away. And sadly, since the storm turned on us at the last minute, many people didn’t evacuate and so 79 people died our county alone. Scuba divers searched for bodies for many days after the storm. There are still 2 people missing from that beach in this video.
I actually live many, many miles away from the shore and even my neighborhood still had flooding higher than the mailboxes. My car literally floated down the street. Hurricane Ian was terrifying

Imagine this hitting the gulf beaches in St Pete/Tampa (Clearwater, St pete, and others). What a catastrophe we avoided.

A time stamp would help show people how bad this is. Is it a couple minutes or couple hours 🤷‍♂️

as a Floridian those two mfs who were walking in the middle of a hurricane and storm surge are relatable. I’m not trying to sound “cool” because it’s an extremely stupid thing to do, but when hurricane Irma hit, me and my sisters went to walk our dogs while we were exiting the hurricane wall and entering the eye, it’s extremely dumb and dangerous, I truly don’t recommend, thankfully we had parents who cared about us and drove to pick us up before we entered the hurricane again.
