@Shayd93

the browser does support flash and hence youtube videos. The program he used is a youtube program, probably made by google, that you can download from OVI store.

@stevenojops Press the power button for about 8 seconds. It has the same option as many laptops - it turns off no matter how stuck it is. And you can replace the battery by yourself - you just need to open couple screws. I don't know does there happen anything to the warranty - I guess we'll find that out somewhere if needed.

I got mine yesterday! In the color of black.

@DaVinci20 I agree. I HATE when people do that. Leaving open all those apps. Of course things will start slowing down if you have all those apps open at the same time.

Although I agree with the comments that the guy doing the demo was kind of crazy to launch a resource intensive game while having so many apps running in the background, I would also like to point out that although the phone seems to be under heavy load, IT NEVER FROZE. The first time I got my N95, it froze a lot under such circumstances (a lot firmware upgrades later, its fine now). If this is the final N8 firmware, then the phone and Symbian^3 LOOKS VERY STABLE.

@delic83 How long will your PC runs with a mobile phone battery? Beside, Android and iOS so called "multi-tasking" are simply leave the program in memory and without processing the program in the background which is not true multi-tasking (not true to 1st party iOS apps though).

@Fevves the video recording, the downloadable maps, the price (at Tescos) and the build quality are distinct enough for my needs. I wonder why people bother complaining about a phone on youtube comments - if they are not interested in them? Maybe they already paid too much for something else?

@Fevves Genuine query, what is it that iOS/Android do thats so great?I dont really mind how operating system looks or if god forbid I have to press twice to get a function, transitions and effects are nothing to me.My only concern is if processor and ram prove to be insufficient.If these two things are up to the job I reckon N8 will be exceptional phone

@papalolita I can make anything slow down if it allows me to open enough apps and use enough memory. At least I have a choice with this one.

@gangsterper, Nokia still has a larger market share than any other phone company, not sure stock value is paramount right now. All they need to do is keep up at the moment, they don't 'need' to be innovative to the point they are taking on masses of new users, just ensure the old users remember Nokia's are robust and familiar. I'd only expect 'revolutionary' from Nokia after they are done with Symbian3, , could be wrong but they can't lose a battle they weren't really trying to win

@delic83

The guy has tons of apps open of course the phone is going to slow down...thats what happens with multitasking, just as on pcs

Really cool phone. I think the monthly price plans will really high. A lot probably due to the 12MP camera and large memory. I'd say it's more for people who are snappy happy, as there aren't many phones with 12MP that are good are there??

I would say nice review, but review means you have to talk.

Not to mention there's a new browser coming to Symbian which will be a lot better than the current browser..

@TDK1138

This is a mainstream-phone. One can leave apps open on iPhone and Android.

Normal people should NOT have to keeping closing apps to manage memory and cpu threads.

It's the job of the Scheduler and the Mem sub-system.

If Sym^3 still can't handle those properly (even with multitasking and all), then it really is the OS fault, not that of the user.

PS. The app-processor on that CPU sucks. It's really slow 2009 hardware. Galaxy S cpu is twice as fast.

do you know why andriod need a 1Ghz processor with 512mbs of ram? because it has to run the OS and all its sparkly animated transitions ONTOP of running applications. symbian is simple, it doesnt need all that power because it is plain, yet not hard on the eyes. it just needs to run applications.

@dysonlu I have brain and that's why i pick the last option. i have brain to know, small of amount apps REALLY need to do something background so it's much better freeze almost all of them, and having speedy phone which don't slow down.

@delic83

Think in context dude...you probably have a multicore pc right? well try opening apps which will use similar amounts of resources like on the N8. and i dont mean open notepad and command prompt. Open media player, firefox, and need for speed shift and lets see how well your system performs....N8 is on a single core cpu so yes it will slow down, and android will slow down too if you run lots of apps on it. No OS not even the best PC OS can stop that.

@nanomyou5

You must be joking...try multitasking on a pc...the same thing happens when you have a lot of apps open...your system slows down.

Apple freezes apps in the background...that doesnt count as multitasking. Android also doesnt have comparable mutlitasking.

It would do much better if they decided to run N8 with Maemo 5....or newer, also i though it runs Youtube videos just like on PC O:
