This actually has happened to me but with my father. He used to beat me up and sometimes even for the stupidest reasons like not eating fast enough or walking to slow. What was even worse was that my mom was right there watching and she didn’t do anything. She just stood there watching. Later my mom left my dad and took custody of my brother but left me with my father. My dad couldn’t take this and had to show his anger on someone or in this case me. I’ve beaten up for the past 9 years of my life. Until one day my best friend came over while my dad was beating me and she saved me from him. My dad went to jail for 3 months though he was supposed to be in there for 6 years. But apparently someone bailed him out. And that somebody was my mom. I moved out and now live with my aunt who has no children and in late March she adopted me on my birthday. Now I’m living my best life and slowly healing from my childhood. But every single day when I’m showering I see the scars all over my legs, arms, stomach and chest which keeps triggering some new emotion in me everyday.

I love this drama because too often dramas from every country romanticize abusive relationships with people staying in them suddenly in love and finding it not abusive but compared to like 5 years ago even that has greatly changed at least from what I notice of new shows each year

The irony for me is the fact that when you want to divorce or sue your husband for abuse and mistreatment, people around you will try to change your mind into forgiving him and giving him another chance while only one or two will truly support you in your decisions. What can you do when almost everyone is against you ? You can only hide and run away, and start a new life in another country.
