Horror! Fallen trees, flooded streets, hail! Storm in Mexico

South of the Mexican capital there were heavy rains, a lot of hail and wind that left puddles and floods in several locations, for which the orange alert was activated, authorities reported this Sunday night. Flooding was reported in Tlalpan and Periférico, on Insurgentes Sur at the height of Fuentes Brotantes, in Churubusco, Río de Los Remedios, on Tláhuac Avenue and other points in Iztapalapa, in addition to the fact that 10 fallen trees were reported in different sectors of the city. Branches and foliage brought down a pole, telephone wiring, power lines, and also caused damage to two parked vehicles.
The rainy season continues in Mexico City, for which the Secretariat for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) activated the Yellow Alert due to the persistence of heavy rains in eight CDMX municipalities on August 29.
A heavy rain with intense gusts of wind and hail surprised the city of Puebla on Monday afternoon.
The natural phenomenon occurred minutes before 8:00 p.m., lasting about seven minutes, causing the immediate closure of commercial premises, paralyzing all activities in the downtown area.
In this regard, the director of Municipal Civil Protection confirmed damages in another 17 more of the city, the main point being the one located on 5 de Mayo and 2 Oriente.
Another of the emergency events occurred in the Libertad neighborhood, where a tree crushed a car that was pressed on the public highway, with no injuries reported.
The strong gusts of wind that hit the city also caused several windows to break in the building of the Automobile Museum, in the El Carmen neighborhood.
It should be noted that elements of Municipal Civil Protection immediately implemented an operation to deal with the emergency, supported by State Firefighters and personnel from the Departments of Management and Urban Development, Environment, Public Services and Citizen Security of the Municipality.
