I used Scar Away silicone bandages after a partial thyroid removal. I used those with real aloe vera gel and was very intentional to use it daily, all day for almost a year. I have almost no scar on my throat. I had to fight people who would tell me that I didn't need to wear it so long but I knew I wanted to minimize the scar. Even the doctor who did the surgery was amazed at how little the scar was visible.

When we were kids, my best friend fell on a space heater and burned her outer thigh, it was not horrible because the heater was pretty low because it had been turned off but it was enough to cause a dark hatch mark and peel (she has dark brown skin). Her grandma told her to apply a bit of onion juice from a sliced onion on it several times a day. She never got a mark. So the old wives tale remedies can work :)

I am extremely grateful to have found your channel. I've had keloids for 20+ years. It was a painful journey going to different dermatologists in different states and nobody had any idea how to get rid of them. I have a scar from an acsedent when I was little it left a scar that is just lighter than my skin tone but doesn't tan. It definitely affects my confidence I'm happy I found this video cuz now I know where to go to treat the scar! Thank you so much!
