I was crocheting Pierre when this was released. He is now completed in classic aqua blue (not the official color name). I did have more trouble than I expected with the small amount of black yarn for Scooter's mask.

i learned how to crochet through tutorials with the only yarn i had (it was black) and never knew that it’s supposedly harder than other colors. imagine my shock when i used a light color and it was so much simpler lol. at least using black yearn taught me how to feel stitches better

I just bring my black crochet under a lamp, lit room or even outside-

as somebody who first used black yarn to crochet their first project, it actually really helped me first learning and made crocheting with OTHER yarn (which i now use much more often) significantly easier, ig doing something harder first makes everything else after easier

I anticipate white areas because the body was not soaked for ? time, fully submerged in an abundance of dye solution, with some stirring (vaguely remembering seeing and using Rit dye as a child). EDITED because I had typed "Dritz" (sewing notions) when I meant Rit (fabric dyes, more than 100 years in business).

I know this video is like, a joke, but if you honestly struggle that much with black yarn that really sounds like a skill issue and this is not a great solution 😅

If you have difficulty/have vision impairment the one thing I can suggest is crocheting close to a strong light source. This will help make the shadows that help define the stitch more visible

honestly the not seeing stitches thing stopped being a problem after I got the muscle memory of crochet down. Most of the time I just kind of know where it needs to go, and it has worked for me so far.

(except with chenille, that yarn is the DEVIL.)

You could use this as an extra lesson for tie dye instead of crocheting on pierre kit

I can say as a crocheter I crochet a lot of things and sometimes I have to crochet black yarn but out of all the colored yarns black is the slowest one to crochet for me I mean the fastest colored yarn I crochet is yellow or lime-green because they’re bright and it’s easy to see your patterns.
