The guy who installed our Honeywell thermostat never left the manual and my husband never read them but he is dead now and I always use the manuals and it looks like my thermostat does a lot more than I never knew it did but I really don’t like things so complicated. But thanks for explaining it.

Thanks! I finally was able to program this thing 🤪, although yours is slightly different model, I was able to follow along n Now I got a schedule for Wake & Sleep the whole week thru!

For those looking to HOLD at different Temperature..

I’ve tried this but be forewarned as keeping it on Hold extended periods can cause your thermostat to fail or damage.
So only use for a weekend or if on vacation mode.
(This is preferable rather than turning the system offline during winter-time so your pipes do not freeze n you come home from vacation to a water pipe break n a whole lot of damage n mess! 😭)

Directions: simply adjust the temp arrows up or down, it’ll hold for a few hours, press HOLD n it’ll hold permanently.
🥳You set, now to get out of Hold mode, simply press Cancel or SCHED n it’ll resume the normal schedule.

This guy left out some very important "details." Let me fill in some (I am just an ordinary guy with two of these thermostats). There are two programming modes: one for the user/homeowner and one for the installer. The simple features (like clock and temperature changes at a given time) are for the user. Complicated features (like backup heat source and cycles per hour per compressor) are in the installer mode. Unfortunately, date, month and year are in the installer mode, I guess because they claim a 10-year battery for the clock. Anyway, this guy first showed how to enter installer mode (press "system" key, then hold the two blank buttons for 5 minutes). He referred to having to use the manual which is true: there is a 4-digit code in installer mode and the manual says what the 4-digit code represents (like "first 2-digits of the year") and you adjust the other number with the up/down arrows for each setting. There is nothing else a homeowner might want in the installer settings.

The other mode for the homeowner is easy - choose the day and set the temperatures and times.

Now, the thermostat might currently be running a program OR it might be set to "Hold." If you adjust the temperature and hit "hold, " it will stay at that temperature forever. To release Hold mode just press the "Sched" button. NOTE: if you want to temporarily adjust the temperature, just change the temperature with the up/down arrows. Do not press hold. It will stay at your new temperature until the next scheduled programming change and the program will resume. Or you can adjust the "temporary hold" time right after you adjust the temperature - when that time comes it will resume the programmed temperature. Your kids will hit hold every time and waste energy (and MONEY!)

I have the old peak save plus model and for some reason, I can’t set the thermostat to auto only. When I set it to auto, on is also displayed. The fan is always running. Anyone help? Thanks.
