Imagine getting Hypnos to 6/7 nectar, you give him ambrosia, he wakes up "Titan's are waking", Melinöe is confused "What? What do you mean? We have so many questions for you" "Titan's are waking" he drinks the whole bottle in front of Melinöe in a big gulp, going fast asleep again.

It's worth noting that Ambrosia and Nectar specifically smell, and taste, like happy memories. Hypnos may not have been good at his job, but he clearly enjoyed it.

Yea Charon is 100% implying Hypnos is doing somthing of greater importance rather than trying to roast him.

I remember reading a comment somewhere that hypothesized Hypnos being asleep not by curse or from outside interference but by choice. He might be in the dream world holding back some other titans that began waking after Chronos rose from tartarus. In which case he has been fighting all alone holding back one or more dangerous entities in a desperate attempt to help the only way he really can. Waking up would shatter what little power he still has over the slumbering titans and possibly unleash all manner of world ending threats. Charon would probably know this as his boat can travel to the realm of dreams but chooses not to tell anyone since knowing wouldn't really make any difference other than cause more panic.

it's funny how everyone, including not only a lot of players but even characters in the game, as well as the narrator, forget about the fact that in the first game hypnos single handedly literally put EVERYONE BUT ZAGREUS AND NYX in the house of hades to sleep, and just how casually it was mentioned in the game. he might be a silly boy but it was clearly stated he is very powerful in his domain. so mel was so goddamn right when she praised him, i am sure

I really like the touch of somberness in Nemesis's voice. It's so different and contrasting against her usual snark and snide remarks that you immediately notice it. Really shows that even if they didn't interact much, she still loves him a lot because he's her brother, and very much doesn't enjoy him being in this state. I think the same's for Charon as well, and Melinoe is just misunderstanding him. He might be trying to make a joke, but it could also imply that Hypnos is genuinely doing something important in his sleep. Either way, I think they did a good job of displaying the melancholy around Hypnos and how NOBODY is liking him being asleep, not for this long.

If I remember correctly Hypnos once used his “domain” (no not that fucking way as in his domain is basically sleep itself, he is the god of slumber and restful sleep if I recall fully) to calm and send a Titan or a giant to sleep for eternity. I’m convinced he’s doing this now to keep something like a Titan, or worse the giants themselves asleep. The children of Gaia are dangerous alone, together they can be worse than natural disasters in the myths.

See during my time in the first game I noticed that Hypnos actually wanted to be a hard worker and once he learned he could make his own lists he started getting a lot done in the hopes of getting a little bit of praise, So I ABSOLUTELY believe he's doing his best to keep other titans trapped in dreams

The idea of Hypnos never moving an inch for 90% of the game, but suddenly waking with a jolt the moment you free Nyx and Thanatos, makes me want to cry.
