Went to music school for classical voice (undergrad, dropped out of grad). Worth it for what you learn and how cultured you become. Very much helps if you want to expand to other voice genres since you learn good technique. However, breaking into the business itself is extremely expensive and most barely make it in and have to take on 2-4 jobs apart from music to even support themselves. I’d say consider the life style and the possibility of success before throwing away tons of money on grad school specifically.

Didn’t goto school for music but I still create and drop on all platforms. Didn’t goto school for audio engineering, I got an internship at a studio and was lucky enough to have someone who went to school and paid the 100, 000 to go there teach me. Always tell him how much he saved me and I always pay him when it comes down to professional mixes even if we collab on the mix, I’ll pay him cause I wouldn’t have been able to learn nearly as much as I did from him online like I was before I met bro.

Wow, the guy who went to school for computer science has my mentality on the subject. All in all, I'm stuck over if I should gamble and pursue a degree in music production (I always wanted to compose epic scores for video games, and television), or if I should go the cybersecurity route. Its less of a gamble if I lean towards a job that will always be in demand and pays well enough imo, because if this is the case, I can pursue music as a hobby and be financially secure about it. The only con is that I may or may not have as much time for it. Idk, I suppose it simply just comes down to a choice.

I have degree in engineering but feel bad i mean very bad whay not in music. Im in mid fourtees now i play sax with privet tuition, trying catch up my dream and time. So bad feeling. But ill get there even when im 70 ill be pro sax anyhow

What if you just wanted a music degree on the side? I wanted to go into music when I graduated from highschool. So, I saw that LACM - Los Angeles College of Music was a good choice for me, but I wasn't too sure about it because I couldn't imagine if I'd be able to make a career out of it.

I'm now 24, yet I'm still thinking of probably going for it, at least to have a minor in music. But, I'm still unsure
