However, among all the supernatural entities Skyrim subjects us to, Sheogorath, Daedric Lord of Madness stands out as an especially remarkable character. A chaotic, comedic, crazed being, his sphere is all things insanity and while Sheogorath's role in Skyrim is relatively minor and one-dimensional, there's more to this prince than meets the eye. The hero of Kvatch has always seemed to be a real tragedy to me. After having endured so much, having faced the fires of Oblivion and lost some of his closest friends along the way, only to spend eternity of insanity is really heartbreaking. What is worse, the hero isn’t even himself anymore at all. He is merely a vessel for our cheese loving friend. The old Sheogorath in a new flesh suit so to speak.
