I have always said this since i was a teenager. I was born in lagos. When my father had issues with his business we had to travel back to our home town in the east. I have also travelled to some part of the western states. You will find the nicest set of people in the villages and also the most tribalistic set of people in the villages as well. The reason is because their fathers have been programmed to hate other tribes. Why do i say this? I when I was in school primary, secondary and university we never differentiated ourselves by tribes. But it's the most recent election that almost triggered that tribal bigotry in me. After some self reflection I realised that we are being played! Like this gentleman said in this great talk. That tribalism does not apply to them they employ it as weapon to distabilse and further their own goals. - Ps: Sorry for the long text and probably bad grammer. It's 4am and I'm still half asleep. 😂

"It's easier to confess hatred than to confess ignorance " Dele Farotimi. Very apt!

God in Heaven knows that I can listen to this man for a whole week non stop. Blessed is the womb that carried this man. It is a great privilege for anyone to be his child, honestly.

Dele baba is super cerebral and he is an illumination to the darkness that trays our political atmospheres.

Thank you Dele. I have lived in the UK for more than 50 years. I tell Nigerians who grumble about racism here that I find it easier to live with racism that tribalism. They are surprised, some even attack me for saying so. I live in a village of 3400 people according to the last census. Mine is one of only two black families here. And we feel very safe. I rest my case.
