just a reminder, you can beat someone with a stronger nation or about same power but he has more strategical advantages, ONLY if he makes a few mystakes (like hes as skilled as you but he loses 5k tanks to oil shortage), by being more skilled than him (it changes much from nation to nation ) a few consistent examples: morocco vs spain, spain is indeed stronger but the gap can be filled with the other person having not a different level of game skill, but even the difference between using research, ideologies and polices, imma call this difference A1 (low skill gap) . Then theres another gap, the one before was low regional against mid regional, this one now will be micro-low against mid regional, it will be portugal vs spain, the gap here will be called A2 (addying advanced strategies like buying materials to do planes or naval superiority to get the upper hand in pretty much every situation, i'll address this skill gap by low-mid level, the portugal strategy could be like it normally is in a portugal-spanish annexation war that of either if theres at least 1 and a half years worth of time to fortify the borders, or if spain wants to rush iberia to camp in 1 million population cities while burning a portion of the small cities that separates the 2 states, and in the mean time as i said, while spain either waits to build an army to break, a navy, or some artilery, you can already get planes by buiying the materials (im acting accordingly to a normal situation where it sells electronics), ofc get artilery, navy and aa (anti aircraft), he will most likely try to push trough ur fortified cities, but in the mean time he'll only get losses, lose money (an ammount not treatening to him according to his skill level). In the mean time you'll build an army that will eventually surpass his, if his skill is high enough to not aim for ur artilery and eventually get that many losses, and he manages to build a navy or anything else, he cant protect all his troops from aircrafts with aa, and if he does you'll only need a few tanks to step in, afther exhausting his army to a point you can break trough, find the weak spot and break in with everything you've got and aim for his capital, if you manage to hold it, it means you won since he cant take his capital back, if he has enough spare mp, money and any sort of ostacle, you can just scroch and looking at the situation try to make a mess in his territory by auto capturing, at that point it will be only a matter of time before he loses everything hes got and you win, i'd like to do the micro vs mid/high regional but it took much time to write such a long ball fermenting shit that no one will read that i want to play some ron now, if someone is interested in my explanations that may not be professional level or either right, but i think its pretty good as an instruction, ask in the comments, if you wish imma do the other 2 principals i was thinking that is micro vs regional and micro vs superpower, the others like mid/low/high regionals against superpower can be done but i focus on low scale fights, im saying high/mid/low, A1/A2 just bc it feels cool and helps me give the lectors a bit of understanding of the gaps, well see ya

Here let me help you out a little bit. Everyone's playstyle is a little different, it doesn't matter what country you pick it only matters that you're good at what you do. So say you're germany, most german players go facist, but no matter what I go communist because it's just my playstyle. Communism is for players who are aggresive and/or just want to expand greatly, there's also the gulag but we don't talk about that lol. Same thing goes for unit types, I like to use attackers because they're inexpensive, quick, and damaging. People have their own playstyles and I've met some weird ones on my way up the RON ladder

It is better to let the AI attack your units when you take a singular city. If the Ai units are large enough but yours are larger then your units will both win the battle and gain a lot of xp.

I can actually play very well mid-late game as Democratic Germany. All you gotta do is keep abusing those liberation wars and seize treasury and war reparations. Then use the money you get to develop your cities faster.
