The most important interaction whether your selling something or buying something is the meet and greet. I thought this one was stellar. If he walked up and and said “can I help you?” You’d think you’re at a doctors office. It’s all about setting the tone for the experience with the client. If you give a boring meet and greet you will have a uphill battle selling them anything.

I was a contractor for years and not once had sales ever crossed my mind. Got offered an opportunity in sales and decided to try it out, and it’s been incredible. I look back at my experience in construction with shame on the ways that we across the industry undersell ourselves by not practicing any sales techniques.

I would only trust a salesman who behaves in between this and not giving as shit. Being extreme in either direction would make me think I’ll be bent over by the time I’m done there. I think this is worse because it’s like grooming you to be ripped off. I figured out the “I’m your best friend act” just working next to salesmen.
