John Hughes must've had supernatural powers. While he's known for making some great films during the 80's and is said to have "defined the era", he also has quite a share of bad credits to his name which seem to make up most of his resume (this was all during the 90's after the success of Home Alone), yet his reputation never sullied, which is strange considering that filmmakers like George Lucas and M. Night Shyamalan get a lot of bashing for their recent work even though they both made some great, iconic films early in their careers.
Whenever I take Hughes' early movies like Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Beuller, Plains, Trains etc. And then compare them with his later credits like Beethoven, Dennis the Menace, Baby's Day Out, 101 Dalmatians, Flubber, and Home Alone 3, I always find myself asking the important question, "Where did all that charm and witty humour go?"

Wow! I literally teared up while watching this. Some of the Best movies of my childhood. Nothing like the garbage they put out these days. Can I please go back and relive the Best decade to be a kid again.

Breakfast club returns to theaters for its 30th annivesray...will the transfer be a 4k master or a 2k sattelite feed since it's a fathom event? I plan on buying the blu ray soon...was way too young when the movie came out but seen it on tv in the 90s. My first John Hughes movie was Home Alone and that is my all time favorite. It's also his highest grossing ever.
