Great idea. I just made one with some dacron rope and ring terminals I had in the garage.

I've had the opposite of the tether break. The wind blew the top closed while I was looking in. Hit my $400 prescription glasses that I had on my head. Scratched both lenses and broke the frame! (yes...it was VERY windy!) Since then I got the Ultra brace. Pricy yes but solves the tether problem.

After watching this, I added one to my triglide. Easy. I used a crimp lug inder the seatback nut and set it so the added lanyard was almost taught when the OEM retractable lanyard stopped.

Great tip ! My factory teather broke last year so I know what you mean luckily my tour pak didnot get damaged. I installed a Harley retractable teather actually a cable that I had from a previous bike. These should come standard for what we pay for these bikes

If I could wish for you guys to make one thing that so so much needed it would be a lock of some sort for the quick detach windscreens that come with or are available for the softtails. It’s way too easy for someone to take it off and pop it on their bike and ride away.

The tour pack lid is a expensive part and takes weeks to obtain if damaged
