Ford Mustang Mach E GT Acceleration and Performance Driving

With a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition joins the Mustang Mach-E GT stable, making an already-fast electric pony even quicker. Pumping out 480 horsepower and 634 lb.-ft. of torque1 – the same horsepower as the Mustang Mach 1 performance coupe but with 214 lb.-ft. additional torque – Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition delivers more torque, grip and better handling by drawing more power from its battery pack, and targets an EPA-estimated range of 235 miles.

The 0-60 is fast, but Car and Driver puts the 0-100 at 12 seconds... for comparison, a Polestar 2 has a much better 0-100 of 10.5 but a 0-60 of 4.1, which is worse than the March E GT and GT Performance. Very weird.

I doubt they're running 3.5 seconds and I would not trust any built-in timers. And the regular GT is supposed to run 3.8 which I still doubt it's capable of. We'll have to wait to see what the actual times are. I'm thinking closer to 4 seconds or even a little higher.

So why do electric cars have to have interiors as plain Jane as a 2007 Saturn Ion and a price tag comparable to a brand new Cadillac CT5?

I call bullshit on the Mach-E.. the Performance edition does 0-60 in 3.5 sec.. sure.. fast.. but to state it beats a 911 GTS is nonsense.. a 992 911 Carrera 4 GTS does that in 3.1 sec.. the regular GTS in 3.2 sec.

Poor Mustang. Killed by Ford herself. What a cruel fate to turn into a muted and boring electric SUV. Very sad end.
