It's quite simple why rates are climbing with rising imports and falling exports, the FED is obviously to be blamed for banking crisis. Something will eventually break if they keep the quantitative tightening and higher interest rates. Is this really a good time to have some savings in stocks?

I use a no-fee checking account and an online savings, but just watch out for banks that secretly sign you up for credit cards behind your back.
*cough* Wells Fargo *cough*

Through a lot of experience I've learned it's better to go with small local businesses whenever possible. This is especially true when it comes to insurance and banking. After feeling like a number all my life with the big banks, I've never felt so appreciated as I do with my local credit union.

Credit Unions are the way to go! No fees, no charges!

I agree. I like being able to talk to a real person inside the bank if there's a problem or if I want to visit about financial needs or have questions.

I personally like having a bank with a physical presence, though also have an online savings account that I keep most of my emergency fund in so it can earn a bit more interest. For a while I also had an online checking account because of the perks they offered, so I might do that again, but I can't see myself completely getting rid of my brick and mortar bank.

I honestly have a lot of respect for Dave and his financial success, but the more I watch his videos, the more I find out that he has something negative to say about every company and every product except the ones that worked for himself. Dave, one size doesn't fit all and you are an intelligent man and by now you should know that. Every person's needs are unique and as a customer, one's responsibility is to know exactly what he/she needs and wants, and as a service provider your responsibility is to listen to a customers' needs and wants and tailor a solution that best fits those needs and wants, but your advice for everyone is that it didn't work for you and him or she, so it won't work for you. Let's put a little more thought and effort to understand people's unique situations.

I'm luckily with a Credit Union, and with a regional bank too but not in my local area.

U.S. BANK has been incredible after over drawing my CKG acct a few times they set me up with a reserve acct and any over draft comes out of there and no $ 39 fee for a bounced check.

dont go with just any online bank just because it pays high interest. verify it has account alerts. some dont have alerts and your account could be drained and you would only find out the next time you logged on

I use Ally Bank. The interest rate on their savings account can't be beat! They are FDIC insured. I have both a checking and savings with them but also have an account with a brick and mortar bank

I work for a large credit union, and in the past worked for a large national bank. Huge difference. You are a member of a credit union, not a customer, and they do care about you.

What about high-yield savings accounts? Are any of them trustworthy?

I bank with schwab where the average trader account is funded with $117, 000. I prefer being on the phone with a representative in 40 seconds. Normal things lead to normal results

Credit union sucks for savings accounts. Less than 1%. I use synchrony and wealthfront that has more than 2% interest rate.
