Look up different spices to put in. My cousin makes home-made pickles that the entire family fights over. It just needs more time and spices. I'm so going to do this before my family reunion.

You need more seasonings. Garlic, dill, seasoning salt and pepper is what we have done to spice up a brine. We LOVE garlic pickles over here.

Maybe standd them up in the container to soak better in the brine. Most put salt, vinegar, sugar. Have to sit a couple of days or sometime weeks. My grandmother use make them with garden cucumbers.
