Anakin was delusional if he thought Padme would stick by him after murdering Obiwan. That would have just shown her what a maniac he truly was.

It’s not that he chose the dark, he was forced to, he was pushed away from the light. Read the books, watch the movies and shows, the comics, you can see he was pushed further and further and further away from the light and right into the dark

The dark side deluded Anakin to the point he believed Padme would have stayed knowing he killed younglings, I personally feel she would have tried to kill him herself if she failed to turn him back…

Would Anakin have been able to kill Palpatine if he wasn't even capable of beating Obi Wan ? Maybe, he was conflicted fighting Obi Wan, fighting Palpatine he wouldn't have had that problem knowing he was behind everything.

Killing Obi-Wan could have shocked Anakin back to the light side and he probably would have tried to kill Palpatine and if Padme would have survived the birth of the twins, Anakin may have fully redeemed himself though he would have paid the price for his atrocities but he would have fulfilled his destiny and brought balance to the Force

Anakins fall wasn't quite as cut and dry as you make it sound. Palpatine played the friendly old man dad role for anakin near perfectly. And Anakin, not really understanding how the real world works and acting out as an impulse against Windu is what screwed him. Hell even killing Windu at that point he could still fix things by gutting Palpatine then and there. But Anakin instantly regretted the decision of attacking Mace, he only joined Palpatine in that moment because he believed himself already to be too far gone.

I blame Padme for his loss to Obi-Wan , if she had never betrayed him and the Empire then he wouldn't have been so messed up during his battle against Obi-Wan.
