Показать описание
This is a segment from a 4.5 hour Supercut which mashes up Rogue One and A New Hope into one film, including how PostitinFX's SC38 Reimagined was edited back into the film with the correct scene order. You will see a new crawl, about 6 minutes of restored deleted scenes, and other minor adjustments to properly bridge the 2 films into one more coherent 4.5 hour single film adventure.

This cut of the film is simply titled "Star Wars: Episode IV - The Rogue Cut".

This footage is taken from the updated version 2 of the cut released in early March, 2021.

If Lucas could have known...it's starting to show it's digital age, but man this scene just plays out beautifully.

Darth Vader sees a group of maintenance technicians clearing out a corridor and tells them "You men are dismissed. Leave that conveniently organized pile of junk where it is I have a special need for it."

I loved that you added the SC38 reimagined edited into your supercut of A New Hope and Rogue One.

Probably a hot take, but while I love the fight scene, and would like to see it inserted into the original somehow, I think this video just underscores my initial misgivings from the original SC38 video - it's the camera work that lets it down.

It's too shaky, too fast, and angled in a way that looks busy even by the today's standards, and would most definitely look out of place in a film from 1977.

I wonder if George had more fantastical plans for Obi-Wan's force ghost. The way he vanishes is so mysterious. I've never seen another force user die like that.

Imagine if this was in cinemas in 1977

I like this version better, as it perfectly occurs right after the last escape scene before the hangar

I have watched this so many times because it is BRILLIANTLY done. It takes advantage of the prequel and Anakin's despise of Obi-wan.

I completely agree with many of the comments that in some way this should be INSERTED into the original because this would absolutely make it astounding.
Disney could make it a whole new movie if they took all the things that were originally deleted, inserted this fight scene between Obi-Wan and Darth, WORTH THE COSTS, and it would be like a brand new movie!Absolutely brilliantly intense.

The one thing I've NEVER understood is why when they release Movies to video or any formats WHY they never allowed the insertions of all deleted scenes making it like a whole new movie. They'd make as much or more money because most people would be seeing the way it was intended not the way it had to be cut/edited for the theaters.

Better than every other light sabre fight in any of the StarWars movies. Proper intent to kill. No useless dancing around choreographed crap.

It’s too bad folks back in 1977 couldn’t see the original and it look like this. Anyone watching back then would’ve shit their pants.

Well back in the day we asked why things were not more wild with Darth Vader and Obi Wan. I mean we were not expecting a full on Jackie Chan martial arts show or something but we were wondering why they had things go so slow and our conclusion at the time was that it was because it was meant to be one of those scenes where the characters are fighting yes but they are also having a conversation at the same time you know like "Hey its been a long time and I want to see how things have changed since." Darth Vader wants to savor his revenge so he is taking things slow all the while Obi Wan is trying to buy time for his friends. It also goes with the fact that Vader as always is only concerned with whats right in front of him just like he did when he was Anakin but Obi Wan is looking far into the future with things.

This makes Darth Vader look as terrifying as he can get.

There are a couple things I really like about this. First, we see a sweet battle. That's obvious. But it's now much more believable that somebody as old as Obi Wan could use the Force to pull out some very athletic moves, since we saw Yoda do the same when he faced Dooku/Tyranus on Geonosis, and then again against Palpatine/Sidious on Coruscant.

I also appreciated the memory voiceover of teacher Obi Wan yelling at dismembered Anakin on Mustafar. Of course, we couldn't have seen/heard that in the 1977 version of ANH, since Ewan McGregor hadn't yet spoken those lines. It's much more meaningful to a 2024 audience, since we're, of course, aware of the full story arc. For a '77 audience, this would have been a bit too much foreshadowing, making the big reveal in 1980's ESB not so ground-shaking.

This cut right here is absolutely lit.

Alright a question for my fellow Star Wars fans. Darth Vader seems to be painted as at least the second most powerful Sith in history, but it seems Obi Wan has only ever lost to him when he straight up gave up. At least according to Episode 1 Anakin had more potential power than Master Yoda, but even with that he's still never been able to beat his Master. Is Obi Wan the strongest Jedi in history? And if he may be, why would he be so powerful?

Yes I know palpatine designed the suit, but vader probably requested for it to make him tall, so he always has the high ground when fighting!

Darth Vader: "There is no escape."

Okay, I just got chills.
