Thanks Bahar ❤
As you told before that when we use ‘few’ it is not enough and when we say ‘a few’ it is enough.

She didn’t explain enough

A - Positive
Without A - Negative
Few - Countable
Little - Uncountable

I have a few friends
(positive/countable, I have enough friends)

I have only few friends
(negative/countable, I don’t have enough friends)

There is a little water in the cup
(positive/uncountable, I think, water in the cup is enough)

There is little water in the cup
(negative/uncountable, I think, water in the cup is not enough)

A couple=two

A few= three or four

Quite a few/several = five or more

Just what I grew up with, lastly..

Six of one, half a dozen of the other= equal amounts:)!

We use couple if it's exactly 2 but my ex used to use few for 2 as well, depends

If i got it rightly.. A few of it's for something that we can count instead of a little that's actually for something uncountable.

i think saying "few" or "little" when you want to say "not enough" (we have few tomatoes) sounds too formal/unnatural. it's much more common to say "we have a few tomatoes, but not enough to make sauce". "a few" tends to mean ~3, "a couple" means 2 and "several" can mean ~5-10

Do we use "some" in questions? I thought only in questions with modal verb "can".

If there are only two tomatoes left, that would usually be called a couple of tomatoes rather than a few. And as a native English speaker I would never say there are few tomatoes. That is not correct. What I would say is that there are too few tomatoes which means there are some, but not enough.
