I did the IELTS test is correct because “I gave the IELTS test” used to indicate that you administered the test to someone else, like if you were a teacher or someone in charge. While “I did the IELTS test” means you were the one taking the test or participating in it.

When someone asks, “Have you done the IELT test before?” the grammatically correct response would be:

Yes, I have.

No, I haven’t.

This is because the question is in the present perfect tense, and the response should match that tense. Saying “Yes, I did” or “No, I didn’t” is in the past simple tense, which doesn’t align as well with the original question.

So, the video is not correct.
