Why I will keep teaching Russian

Dear friends, I think all Russian teachers MUST step out right now and prove that our country is not just what our politicians do. The Russian language was the mother tongue of many people people who had great impact on the world. Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Tchaikovsky, Gagarin, Pushkin, Shalyapin, and so many many others! It is our mission today to prove to the world that Russia is a wonderful country with wonderful friendly people that do not support the atrocities that are happening right now. Thank you!

Please keep teaching Russian. Russian culture, people and it's history is absolutely fascinating and lovely. I'm a beginner but there is no way I stop learning this unique and beautiful language. Please direct all your focus and attention towards teaching and nothing else. Don't pay attention to anything that is outside the realm of language teaching, and culture and history. I wish you the bests. You know what's right to do. Keep going.

I first learned basic Russian in the U.S. military during the cold war and never hated Russians as a people, that's ridiculous. Keep up the good work. I've always enjoyed your videos.

I truly feel heart-broken for you guys. I live in Russia now and so many people are getting depressed. Some already lost their jobs (or are about to), many are afraid to not see foreigners anymore, not to be able to discover other countries.
Many of them have family in Ukraine and are so worried about the situation.
Many of them have a father or a brother sent in Ukraine or in bordering regions and are afraid to never see them anymore.

I really hope this war will stop. For both Ukrainians who are the first to suffer from it and for Russians who are losing faith and getting isolated.

For myself my Russian teacher is actually from Ukraine. it's been really hard to watch the events unfold but, that hasn't stopped her from teaching and I will not let that stop me from learning. Russian for me is about the people, the history and culture not the evil actions of the current leadership. I stand with you and encourage you to continue your work.

Through a chain of events, my Russian language study led to becoming friends with a family in Ukraine last year. We communicate from time to time and pray for each other.
