there a NYC style deli near me that serves their Ruben with corned beef and pastrami like a club style, 3 pieces of bread. best of both worlds!!

I am 100% pastrami, but I do still love the corned beef.

But.

My sauce is at least 50% spicy mustard. I'm willing to do 100%, but that's not for everyone.

Excellent job! Now i wanna go get a rooftop tent and a portable griddle!😆 I've never been around any place that makes reuben sammies but i do like a local bagel place near Seattle that has me wishing i would've grown up around these delicious flavorful sandwiches. When i do make this i may try a spot or dab of deli mustard and cranberry sauce as well 😋

Living in the UK, I've never had a Reuben but have seen people order it so many times in movies and TV shows. I'm going to use this video to make a Reuben, but then to create a Cuban Reuben. We drew a venn diagram of Cuban and Reuben to create a Cuban Reuben. Basically it's the ingredients of both minus Ham and Sauerkraut, mustard will probably be baked into the sourdough sub.

Pastrami vs. Corned Beef...that's a tough one. I like them both. For a twist, try the pastrami with cole slaw (unheated) instead of the 'kraut. A group of us did this at a deli in Miami for a week, and by week's end, they had added it to their menu! And WHERE did you find the Jersey Mike's pepper relish in a jar? I love that stuff!

I agree with you im a biased east coast girl that moved to Cleveland ohio ...they think you use corned beef here and think only way ...but im in favor of pastrami
