I argue the cape capes make a great hiding spot for anything on your back where do you think he hid that multi tonne hammer that's right under the cape they also serve as a rather decent distraction while fighting since it's also whipping around behind you with all the movement you can swing with it and get a sneak attack off using the cape to hide your arm mid swing
