ABOUT ME: I’m a former Jehovah’s Witness who faded away from the religion around 2 years ago. I believe that current members of the organization deserve to be aware of the abuses committed by Watchtower. I am a big proponent of religious freedom and critical thinking, and invite my audience to be kind, open minded, and always stay curious.

IMAGINE YOU DRAW A PICTURE OF YOUR TWO MOMS AND SOME RANDOM GIRL COMES UP TO YOU LIKE "You're going to burn in hell unless your parents divorce" THAT WOULD BE CRAZY

As a queer person, I personally feel validated by the fact that i'm being compared to a military grade explosive.

It’s absolutely horrible to think that the parents were also like Sofia -curious, naive and genuinely kindhearted, only to turn out like this.

It's really no wonder why Caleb and Sophia are so alienated at school. Sophia probably preached to her classmate about why her moms are in the "wrong". She probably told Sophia off and turned the school against her.

What gets me the most was at the end, after mom explained why they believe it was wrong when she then basically asked how Sophia was going to back to school and explain to her friend/classmate why her mom's don't get to go to Heaven. And then having Sophia PRACTICE how she was going to tell her. Like, no wonder there are so many episodes where she has no friends. It's one thing tell your kid what to believe, but telling your kid to tell other kids what they should believe to?

Mom: “So, what can you say to Carrie?”

Sofia: “You’re going to hell!”

Mom: “That’s awesome! Let’s practice!”

"I'm sorry darling! Even though we love each other and the family we have made, our daughter's classmate said we can't go to heaven unless we divorce and learn to not be who we are!"

Imagine just eating your eating your sandwich and a fucking 8 year old comes up to you say that your parents love style is wrong and that they should change or they arent going to get to the good place

Using the airport metaphor, being LGBT is like my metal knee. I can still get on the plane, even if the detectors go off, because it's an unremovable part of my body and isn't hurting anyone. :)

"Let's practice indoctrinating your classmate and forcing our religious views on her, while also insulting her parents and their marriage! Yay!" Yeah, this is totally going to go over well with the other girl, her family and the teachers, and totally won't lead to your kid ruining her relationship with at least some people in her class, JW mommy...

Headcanon: Caleb and Sophia both grow up and eventually leave the religion. Sophia over the years develops feelings for her friend Zoey, the black girl she hangs out with. She's actually allowed to graduate college, where she later becomes a chemist and marries zoey. Caleb follows his passion for gaming and becomes a game developer. They completely lose contact with their parents.

I'm gay and grew up in the 90s in a JW household to two born-in parents. Let me just say, I knew what I was when I was 12. I knew what would happen to me if anyone ever found out. I was suicidal most of my life. I was constantly in fear of being found out. I was miserable.

a question I sometimes get asked is why I chose to be lesbian, and usually I just ask them why they chose to be straight, some people get it, and then some prove my point by saying "I don't choose it!"

I got so tired of being an "abomination", I finally came out at the age of 26. I'm now 70 and do not have a single regret. Shame on those people.
