It is easy by dividing first equation by 2nd after reversing its lhs and rhs
We get (x+y-2)(x+y-1)=6=2×3=-3×-2
x+y=4 or -1.

Hi, thanks for your excellent videos. A question, this simultaneous equation can be thought of a second degree equation, how can you get THREE sets of answers?? also at 2:36 how is it possible that X+Y =4 and at the same time X+Y= -1 That would be like 4=minus 1. please explain. Thank you again 🙂
