redesigning AFTER as penguin classic covers

So I've had this idea to redesign modern covers as a classic (and vice versa).
Here I teach you how to make any cover into the style of the iconic penguin-classic series.
If Penguin is watching this - the video is just for fun please do not sue me.
The design side of Penguin books are vast and very interesting. Romek Marber's 'Marber Grid' is an example of technical efficiency and great, well-proportioned guidelines for cover design.

Penguin Modern Classics are paradoxically simple yet rich and complex in meaning. There's a variety of collections and styles throughout the years - from the iconic colour-coded paperbacks designed for economical mass prints whilst retaining eye-catching farmilirarity to their cloth-bound classics and special editions.

Of course, we had to celebrate Anna Todd's After in such gravity as to call it a modern classic. Because what is more classic and iconic than Harry Styles wannabe placing a bet on whether he can get with a goody-two-shoes good girl? The classic tale of bad guy wants mousy girl transcends time and space. Opposites attract when you're both gorgeous actors.

i love the first and third covers. first because i love the myth of hades and persephone, and the third one because it's such a typical romance trash cover with two white people almost kissing.

I love that "almost bullshitting in an academic way" of symbolism and importance of small things!

The Hades and Persephone cover reminds me of classics given unnecessarily "erotic" covers. "We promise this Thomas Hardy novel is full of s*xytimes, this cover has a photo of a woman's neck!"

It would be hilarious/awesome to see any of the warriors books given this treatment. Bluestar's Prophecy has the prettiest original cover (in my opinion), so that would be fun to work with
