Data governance keeps your data organized, accessible, and compliant. Watch to learn what data governance is and how it can be beneficial to businesses.

Data governance is the overall management of data in an enterprise. It monitors the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the data. This is useful since organizations rely on data to make important business decisions and improve their services and operations. It also facilitates compliance with data privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA.

A data governance program usually has a governance office, governing body, a defined set of procedures, and a plan to carry out those procedures. Representatives from an organization's business operations work in conjunction with the IT and data management teams.

when you talk about governance, business start realising such discussions has no value for them. I believe it is more IT leg that shall be embedded in IT architecture but again IT management focus on success of projects rather what project debt will be in future.
