This is the most interesting shopping trip we've ever been on.

Jack Stauber, at the age of 23, would have to buy 583 bags of this oatmeal to last him the rest of his life.
The average life span is 76 years for a male.
Three bowls a day. Each bag would last about 33 days. He would need about 11 bags to last a year. He has 53 years left to live, (about), so 53 x 11= 583.
583 bags of that oatmeal will last him the rest of his life.

i enjoy the fact that at the end, the guy picked up the "mystery flavor" oatmeal.
its like a reminder to just wing it in life and live with the unexpected.

What I've learned so far:

Milk- You will die someday. Go out and live your life. Give it meaning.

Bread- You don't have to be the fanciest person with the fanciest stuff. That only warrants judgement and an expected standard. Be happy with what you have because it more than likely suffices.

Paper Towels- Nothing will ever be the same. Your life evolves around you as you age, and if you try to slow down and stop evolving with the world around you, then you'll be left behind, thus creating more trouble than the ever-changing world would.

Oatmeal- shit happens. If you live a constant routine, you will be disappointed because life isn't constant. Stay flexible so you can reach for whatever fascinating events life has to offer

Not gonna lie. It bothers me he got milk first. It's just getting hot with all this time he's wasting.

The fact that Jack Stauber uses actual footage from the aftermath of the car accident he was in is so hilarious, yet genius. What an artist.

im pretty sure this is just a glimpse into an everyday grocery run for Jack Stauber
talk politely with a stranger
find item he's looking for
stare at item for about 20 seconds while making up a little tune in his head
put item in cart
repeat

So the songs as I’m naming them are:
“Expired”
“Artisanal me”
“Mess”
“Oatmeal routine”

Each one of these shorts introduce a character that represents the episodes moral. This one had a man who only had routine and when its interrupted he's anxious, oatmeal is usually a metaphor for bland and plain. The song means you could have a boring routine every day, but if something goes wrong your life is at stake. Moral of the story, time is an illusion, so only live life to the fullest, sometimes it's best to have intervention to spice up routine.

I dont know if Jack has talked about HIS meaning of this clip but I resonate heavily with it...it reminds me of how OCD affects my life, I love this clip so much

How can everything on this guy's shopping list be philosophical?

*Routine: is it human?*
Why is that so impactful?
