This was a really good series, all jokes aside, thank you, Jack Stauber.

Weird that "Your bread isn't you" is one of the most powerful things I've heard this year.

Damn. That “Five Aisles of Grief” sequence (0:23-0:55) was phenomenal. I had to see it a second time to fully appreciate how flawlessly Jack executed it.

Let's see if I can sum up the moral of each short:

MILK: Live a good life and be a good person, so that when you "expire" you can do so knowing you left a good impact on this world.

BREAD: Impress people with your personality instead of your possessions. Just be yourself. There's nothing wrong with being plain "Wonder Bread."

PAPER TOWELS: Life is chaotic and messy. That's just how it is and there's nothing you can do about it. Don't get caught up with the giant messes in life, just push forward.

OATMEAL: You could follow a routine and feel comfortable having everything planned out, but life never really follows your plans and road bumps will always get in the way. Just go with the flow instead of trying to plan against it.

COFFEE: Everything in moderation. You don't need the things you enjoy to survive. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a cup of coffee but don't get addicted to the caffeine.

CHEESE: When faced with a tough decision, don't be afraid to believe in yourself. Life's full of decisions and even if you don't know which answer is right there's no harm in trusting your instincts. Everything's a learning experience and you're always learning from every choice.

Jack Stauber is stylistically one of the most talented and unique artists I’ve ever encountered on the internet. I stumbled across some of his videos a couple months back and was instantly entranced by his bizarre visuals, wild emotive singing and interesting blending of stop motion animation, cartoons and computer generated graphics. What really impressed me about his newest project, SHOP: a pop opera, recently featured on adult swim, was the seamless blending of all the afore mentioned creative mediums, as well as the subject matter that he chose to write sketches and songs about. The project managed to somehow introduce several complex ideas about modern life, drugs and making decisions all while hiding under the guise of being an animated short about a man visiting the supermarket.

So—

HE is the cheese character. The indecision for having too many choices, and not making life the way he wants. There are many cheeses, choose the right one.

Every milk will expire
So toss your oatmeal
And eat something new
Coffee in moderation
Life is messy
And your bread isn't you

what a god
explains the five stages of grief incredibly well in so many different ways, his tone of voice obviously and the lyrics too, but equally the colours and even animation of the face, and he does this all while making cheese puns
jack stauber is a genuine blessing he still deserves infinitely more recognition for his genius

What an ending!
I knew he would go back for the free sample by the end!

Those cheese puns were pretty cool, and seeing the other good items get referenced in the second half of the song were a nice callback.

Thank you Jack Stauber for making these and thank you Adult Swim for working with him to make this possible.

"I can't make these decisions on my provolone, " is my favorite line

I like to think of his "Can I try another one?" At the end symbolizes how he wants to live another life, but the answer is "no." He eventually accepts it and says, "that was good." In reference to the life he lived. Maybe I'm just overthinking things, idk 🤷‍♀️

this might be a stretch but i kind of think the main guy's hair looks a lot like the frozen yogurt sample. it would make sense because all of the other characters look like their corresponding grocery item but it might just be a coincidence hhh

I had high expectations for this series given that it's Jack Stauber and it still turned out even better than I was expecting.

Make the decision for what you truly want, you will die someday so don’t get stuck in monotony out of trying to be safe, let yourself splurge but don’t get caught in addiction, life is a chaotic mess but that’s okay, and don’t let others perception of you define your self-worth.

Thanks for the kind lessons Jack.
