0:12 Everyone's theorizing that this is Opal's mother in her youth just because of all the drugs and bad habits, but why isn't anyone talking about this moment where she literally imagines giving birth to a child who she hopes will be her spitting image and solve all her problems?

I swear, I obsess over each and every one of Jack’s claymations. How can somebody be so patient? You have to take photo after photo to complete one project, and Jack is over here nailing it. He’s so fricking awesome.

I've noticed that Jack has a thing for addictions, of all kinds, metaphoric or not. And that explains a whole lot.

Everyone is saying this is Claire's mother in her youth but she actually looks more like THE opal (the one from the billboard for opal's burgers). They both have red noses, sideways oval shaped head, and they're blonde with pigtails. This could be where her life went after the whole "fame" stuff.

Y'all, this is 100% Opal's mother (or, more disturbingly, Opal herself following in her mother's footsteps and desperately self-medicating as the world inside her head is no longer enough), and now I need to know if there are any other things like this that might be Opal lore.

I think this is actually older Opal, not her mother. The entity at the end sings a distorted version of “We See You, Opal.” She hopes that her child will break the cycle, or be rich enough to escape the grasps of poverty that drive people into addiction and alchoholism.

Jack Stauber is stylistically one of the most talented and unique artists I’ve ever encountered on the internet. I stumbled across some of his videos a couple months back and was instantly entranced by his bizarre visuals, wild emotive singing and interesting blending of stop motion animation, cartoons, and computer-generated graphics. What really impressed me about his newest project, SHOP: a pop opera, recently featured on adult swim, was the seamless blending of all the aforementioned creative mediums, as well as the subject matter that he chose to write sketches and songs about. The project managed to somehow introduce several complex ideas about modern life, drugs and making decisions all while hiding under the guise of being an animated short about a man visiting the supermarket.

I don't think it's Claire's mom, but Claire herself, looking at her red nose and typical hair, for example. "I hope that one day things will change" means that she hopes that the trauma will not transfer to her daughter/son as it did in this case. "We see you, Opal" at the end in the form of a demon is supposed to be a metaphor for the demon of the past.

(sorry for any mistakes, I'm using a translator)

Why is no one talking about that literal demonic entity that appeared at the end.

Who else visits Jack's videos throughout the years to reflect on themselves and own previous eras?
