Love her as a companion. Dogs are Family. I feel like animals love more than us and teach us empathy bc so many times humans are narcissists

How old was she when you.got her? I just adopted an 8 month old yesterday. She is indeed a handful. The prev owners kept her in the back yard so she's all over the place right now. She's a sweetheart and very vocal although i don't think she likes other dogs 🙁

Theyre great, loyal, (usually) obedient dogs, and so darn intelligent! Treat them right and they do you right. True to any dog but im partial to shepsky :p

I adopted a dog last week from a shelter, she looks exactly like this only a lot smaller. We're pretty sure she got at least one husky parent, not too sure about the other one :')

I never indented on getting a shepsky but wound up with one back in May and I love him. He’s better than any dog I could have dreamed of. I didn’t even think about this breed until I got him. He’s perfect for me. Some say the dog chooses you which is certainly true in my case.

Wow, that is one beautiful animal!

Currently, my furry children are a pure bread German Shepherd and a Husky/Aussie mix. They're both beautiful as well. Our Shepherd is 3 years old while the Husky/Aussie mix is just over a year old. Both animals have distinct character differences, but the family dynamic resulting from their differences has been fantastic. Both dogs are female. When my wife came home with Sasha (Husky/Aussie mix) I was concerned about how Hannah (German Shepherd) would react. I told my wife I was OK with us getting a second dog, but I told her, given Hannah's lack of social interaction with other animals, that we should purchase a male puppy. My wife brought Sasha home as a complete surprise to me, Hannah, and our 3 boys. I thought initially that my wife had lost her mind, but once she explained the situation and I saw Hannah's initial reaction to Sasha, I immediately agreed that her bringing Sasha home was the right decision.

Sasha was given to my wife by a neighbor who lived around the block from us. When my wife brought Sasha home, she was severely malnourished, and subsequent to the cause of her undernourishment, had food aggression. Both dogs have individual feed and water stations on opposite ends of the kitchen. For the first 3 days we had Sasha, Sasha ate as if she were a vacuum cleaner, not chewing her food so much as she appeared to be inhaling it. If Hannah would approach her while she was eating, Sasha would bark viciously at her. Three days in, Sasha realized she was going to have as much food as she needed, undisturbed, the aggression disappeared.

The home Sasha came from had 3 grown dogs, a full grown Siberian Husky (Sasha's father), a full grown Australian Shepherd (Sasha's mother), and a large Pit Bull. The three full grown dogs were quite obese, while Sasha and her 2 sisters were completely malnourished. Apparently, the large dogs were eating all the puppies food. In any case, Sasha's malnutrition made some kind of sense to me, but I think her previous owners could have done something to separate the animals while they ate. All six of these animals lived in a garage which is where they ate, slept, and did their business. So sad... :(

The family who owned these dogs had no business caring for pets. Wherever they were moving to was limiting them to 3 dogs, so they were forced to give up the puppies, which of course was fantastic for the puppies. Another neighbor of mine took the remaining two pups to the local animal shelter where they were adopted out within 3 days, to a much better life I'll assume.

Sasha's initial food aggression aside, Hannah immediately began treating her like her own daughter. After having Sasha for nearly a year, the two now act more as siblings than anything else. If we take one to the vet without the other, whichever of the two that is left home just mopes by the front door until her sister returns. Hannah loves getting in the car and going anywhere while Sasha experiences anxiety and still must be carried into the car. I think Sasha fears she might lose her happy home if she's taken from it for vet or grooming appointments. Hannah has always liked following me out to the garage when I go to work on something but initially, Sasha would stop dead at the door between the house and the garage, not wanting to enter, which I believe was in response to her initial habitat. A few weeks later, Sasha would go out to the garage, but only if Hannah follows me first, and now she'll go out there on her own because she's comfortable in the fact that when I or whomever else goes out there has no intent of leaving her there. After nearly a year, the traveling by car is still an issue, but I believe it will resolve eventually.

Fortunately my wife and I have no access to a time machine. Sasha has turned out to be the sweetest, most lovable dog we've ever adopted. I told my wife several months ago that if I'd known how Sasha was going to turn out, I'd have gone around the block and grabbed her two sisters. My wife laughed and said that if she'd thought I'd have been OK with her coming home with three puppies, that she would have brought all three home.

In appearance, Sasha favors her father, the Siberian Husky. Aside from a slightly longer body than what I've seen on Huskies, she lacks her mothers floppy ears, has the prettiest blue eyes, and and a curly tail that wags constantly.

Bringing Sasha home has filled our house with happiness. It's not that we were unhappy before, it's just that everything seems more fun now that Sasha is here. Before we got Sasha, Hannah would on occasion mope around looking sad. It was as if her fully human family was not enough to support her emotional needs. So long as the pair are together, they are visibly happy. The only time either will mope is, as I mentioned, when one of the two has an appointment and is away for a bit.

Our family has always had German Shepherd mixes we'd adopt from animal shelters. The two dogs we had prior to Hannah lived to be 17 and 15 years old, which is considered a long life for large dogs. As anybody will attest, having to put a dog down is one of the most miserable things to cope with. We keep doing it to ourselves, getting other animals a few months after one has passed. I guess we just don't want to go through life without having one of these bundles of joy constantly in our presence. That said, having seen your dog, I'll keep the Shepherd/Husky mix in mind when it ever becomes time to adopt again. I can only hope that whichever of the two, Hannah or Sasha sticks around longer, will accept a sibling as Hannah accepted Sasha. The two of them together just make life so much better!

Thanks for showing off your new puppy.
