Our Beloved boy was a dumped out Road Orphan, about a year old, skeletal, and eaten up with mange. He had the sweetest demeanor, and we took him in. It took a lot to bring that precious little Soul back to good health, but we had 14 and a half years of the most beautiful Family companion you could ask for. My husband and I have had our German Shepherd for 14 years going on 15 yrs. Sam has brought so much joy to our family. He has outsmarted me multiple times. It breaks my heart to see how much he has aged, I can't help but remember him when he was just 6 weeks old and his ears would come together like a cone, he was such a trouble maker and got into so many things. We know his time is coming and can only thank God for allowing us to have him for so many years. His hips are starting to give out and his hearing and sight are slowly going. We are trying to enjoy him as much as possible while we have him. Sam is the dog of our youth and we love him very much!

My first dog as a child was a German shepherd named Kilo she was a rescue. She kept me away from a copper head snake in the backyard. she would not let me go around her no matter what I tried as a 4 year old. She just gentle herded me and barked at a different tone that my Dad knew to come and check, he saw the snake and killed it. She saved my life and was always so gentle with us. I loved her til she crossed the rainbow bridge.

I grew up with a German shepherd and he was smart and mischievous and everyone in the neighborhood was scared of him; but at the end of the day he always cuddled up with us kids in a pile of blankets. He was gentle and loyal and a wonderful dog to us; miss him all the time.
