Every time I see these marvel reviews I get the yen to get a new lathe but having had my 1930 Colchester Bantam for 40 years and completely rebuilt it they would have to prise it from my cold dead hand now.
I fitted a Pratt Burnerd 4 jaw chuck back in 1980 when I first got it and afterwards a Chinese 3 jaw which still holds work to a thou kid thee iron does grow on you.

I want one of these! It is the perfect size for my needs and appears to be a very well made machine! I am very disappointed that you cannot provide a link but I think I can find it. I am so happy that it comes with metal gears and some cutting tools and holders! I WANT!

That lathe is identical to the Precision Mathews PM-1030V I just purchased. The tool box is also identical and the paint cans for touch up. Only difference is my tail stock and carriage are blue in color. Thank you for sharing your video.

We had this exact lathe at work. It took too much tinkering and fiddling to get good results for a professional environment. But I could see myself buying one and use at home, but it's not professional grade right out of the box, imho.

I bought the same lathe from Precision Mathews. They added a quick change tool post and a DRO. Very good lathe, very happy with it.

Oh boy this fellow sure is proud of what he spends his money on. Good luck with that.

As far as a mini lathe and quality are concerned this one seems to be outside the norm it looks like it's built as good as it could be for the money. It honestly looks like you could produce a good product with that as long as you keep within the parameters of a small unit and let's face it if you spend 10, 000 your not going to get quality just because . If you do good work you can get a good product..

Got to hand it to him he even did a demo using steel stock instead of most showing off how well these lathes cut metal with aluminum or brass or copper.

It takes a brave man to spin an unloaded scroll chuck up to 2000 RPM, stand it the chuck jaw trajectory path, and then OPEN THE PROTECTIVE SHIELDING... Lovely lathe, but PLEASE stay safe man.

The same lathe is sold under many different brands so while I'm sure it's a nice lathe, it's not German or Austrian but good old Chinese.

Nice review of this Chinese lathe. They are very good value. You want to be taking lighter cuts. That is still a small lathe. Industrial lathes start at 600kg or so. My Colchester is 1250kg but small lathes are good for small work. Just take it easy.

It’s a nice little machine for diy and hobby applications. The quality seems ok. What most people don’t know is that many different factory’s in China are building the exact same machine. The quality from one to another machine manufacturer can vary vastly. Some manufactures even offer different levels of quality. It’s best to find a supplier in the US who is helping with warranty claims and spare parts when you need them.
