The Dennis Martin disappearance shook the USA to its core. It all started on fathers day in the great smoky mountains and ended up being one of the strangest missing persons mysteries till this very day over half a century later!

I grew up at the edge of the Angeles National Forest (two towns away from Princess Marlena). Back in ‘89, a Boy Scout by the name of…I think it was “Shane”, but I’m not sure. Anyway, “Shane” was overweight and out of shape, and yet was still hiking with the scouts. He kept lagging behind, and his over macho Scoutmaster told him if he couldn’t keep up, we would be left behind.

He disappeared and was never found. There were theories as to what happened, even rumors. One was that a mountain lion or a bear got him. Another was that he had stumbled into a secret pot growing farm, or a drug deal/exchange and was killed off and buried. But we’ll never really know.

This happened 5 years before I was born and even afterwards it changed how parents kept and eye on their children sad man really is but some things in this world you just can't explain very famous case here in Tennessee and is still sometimes talked about to this day even from the old ones.

I grew up near the Angeles National Forest, and we’ve had some disappearances. A friend of mine told me that while she was drinking with a customer (she was a stripper), this customer told her that he was doing an exchange for a drug deal and there was a witness who accidentally wandered in on them.

Unfortunately they killed the witness, who was just a hiker minding her own business. They hid the body, and got out of there. My friend later placed an anonymous tip to the authorities regarding the location of the missing hiker and the drug deal which her customer was involved. Weeks later after investigation, the missing hiker was found and the customer went to jail.

His accomplices were also found. Fortunately they blamed him and not my friend, even when he tried to blame her for snitching. He himself, ironically, turned state’s evidence/witness and went into protective custody.
